The world’s greatest card game bridge is struggling to keep pace with the demands of the modern world.

This site and the materials available on it are a response to the following issues:

  • The loss of relevant card playing habits or skills in family or social environments amongst the youth of today
  • Little or no exposure to bridge at school or university
  • The lack of time or opportunity for working adults to learn bridge at a recognised beginner’s course
  • Over-emphasis in most traditional bridge teaching methods on the complexities of the auction (the bidding) rather than the fundamental building blocks of card play skills

This software is unique with its extensive focus on the basic skills. Without these skills, basic competence and enjoyment are seriously compromised. As a result, many bridge learners never reach their full potential or give up the game completely.

To avoid this scenario and gain access to a simplified gateway into a whole new world of social and competitive fun, you can now download a free trial version of the Teach Yourself Bridge software programme for PC.

The full licence to access the main bulk of the dynamic examples, inter-active partial and full deals and comprehensive notes can be obtained currently via email free of charge.

About

Teach Yourself Bridge is the creation of bridge author and educator David Adelman, who has spent an entire generation devising, testing and improving a simplified, user-friendly method to provide a neat gateway into the otherwise daunting world of bridge.

The method was funded for extensive use in schools from 2001 to 2012  in both formats of bridge and minibridge (originally developed in the Netherlands and France for schools).

The software for both formats of the game has also been used successfully over a prolonged period to introduce students on beginner courses at the well-known Manchester Bridge Club, helping them unravel the complexities of the game.
